Over the last 24 hours I have suffered sever packet loss in SL. No other internet site or online game is affected. in-game packet loss ranges from 5% to 50%. Pinging www.secondlife.com is currently at 28% loss. Not everyone is having issues, but I know a signifigant muber of the people I asked are.

CODE

Ping statistics for 66.150.244.125:
Packets: Sent = 50, Received = 36, Lost = 14 (28% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 187ms, Maximum = 265ms, Average = 200ms

Is Linden Labs aware of this problem, and if so if there any ETA on a fix? At the current level of packet loss it's not even possible to chat, I can only use IMs.

Try a tracert www.secondlife.com and post your results, this will show you where on your ISP there is an issue.

After running enough traceroutes to get statisticly signifigant data... looks like the problem is on the trans-pacific crossing from Australia to the US. I blame resmods, the weekly stripend and age play because they are easy targets. :-)
