Hy there, a friend of mine got a problem....she got her password saved in the SL client, but didn't remember it anymore...
We've gone through phone support and support homepage, the passwort reset won't work for her, on the phone they told her all the security answer wherw wrong...don't know why...so if her computer will be broken, she doesn't have an SL account anymore, don't know if the ingame support will help, do you think so? We tried a couple of unmask password tools, ofcourse on her local computer, no one works, do you have an idea how to help her instead of creating a new SL account an loosing all no trans. items?
best regards

The password reset "tool" has some pretty unique ways of verifying and allowing you to reset a password last I saw. It can ask things like what was the name of the last region you logged out in, or what region do you have home set to, and some other various questions (name some friends on your friends list?). I don't remember exactly. If there is absolutely nothing there that she can answer..... I don't think there is much else that can be done other than to try and reason with Linden Lab/file a ticket, try and get them to do some other verification perhaps.

Good luck.

I had a similar situation not long ago in that I had no password and got all my questions wrong in the resetting for a new password and of course then locked out. Why I did manage to do was create a new account to get me onto sl and tracked down a linden for a live chat.

Totally explained what had happened and eventually they did reset a new password for me, or go up support and get a ticket. There was a phone number somewhere set up just for passwords but I'm sorry I dont know where it is. Ask in a support ticket.

thx for the replies!
I try the live chat thing, we already tried it but at this time no linden was online, so I have to look out for the working times. Thx a lot! :-)

Have you tried entering your username and clicking the 'forgot passwork' button? That will email you and send you to an authentication webpage.
