Just a regular day in sl

I knew what it would be like tonight coming in to sl. I mean, after all they did an update and I've been here long enough to know exactly how much fun we're treated to when they patch up.

First, I couldn't download the patch so I had to go to a different site to add it. I already knew I was on my way for a fun filled night.

Then, after downloading this patch, I could not login. So I took down the Firewall and Virus Protection but I still couldn't login. I then uninstalled and re-installed the game not once, but twice but still nothing.

Finally, after doing all sorts of things on my computer to get in sl, I finally made it in only to be stuck and unable to move. I couldn't fly nor walk and on top of this I was all bent up with my head between my legs. I went into my inventory to get my landmark to my land but the "search" part in my inventory wasn't working either.

I then logged out and set prefrences so I would enter sl by going straight to my home. But now I couldn't login again.

Like I said, I'd knew it be just like this with anything and everything going wrong. Nothing new, just the same-old, same-old at secondlife. And they fixed things up, so just imagine if they hadn't.

Is this a great fun filled game or what?

Do you have a firewall?

Did you have to open UDP ports to get SL to work in the past?

If so, you may have missed a blog post where they said you'd have to change those openings in the firewall to UDP + TCP for this update. I'd give that a try.
