I'm having persistent problems with my computer losing sync with the SL server to the point where I'm logged off the system. The two main situations:
* When flying, my av will zoom off in a straight line, oblivious to the local neighborhood and unable to stop.
* When teleporting, destination takes a long time to appear on the map, and the progress bar will get stuck slowly updating the "Requesting Teleport" phase and evetually log me off.
I have what sounds like a pretty decent computer system:
Compaq Presario - 3Ghz Pentium 4, 512MB RAM
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro - 128MB RAM
PacBell DSL - 2.3Mb download, 400Kb upload
I've tried dialing down the video preferences, but that just improves the frame rate. The packet lag bar still goes red, but even when it doesn't, I have teleporting problems. I also tried different network Maximum Bandwidth settings, but didn't see any noticeable effect.
Anyone have ideas on what's going awry or how to cope with it?
