If you post your specs there will be some knowledgeable people to help, I'm sure. I am not one of them, but I hope this gets resolved for you. My only suggestion is to reset your firewall as it's something I have to do all the time, for some reason.

Specifics Would be Helpful
05-27-2006 12:32
1. Post system CPU speed, memory and most especially, video card and memory 2. Post driver version if you know it. 3. Specify area and FPS where problem is occuring, and frequency of occurence. 4. Please note if others in that area are also having trouble (if you know)
In other news, something in my house is broken - can you tell me what the problem is?

1.10 runs fine on my system with no changes in drivers or anything else.
Whenever you have a problem, make it a point to give others enough information to see what the problem may be like. We know the following about your computer system:
1. Nothing

He's not the only one with lousy performance. People have posted specs elsewhere with little to no relief from the horrid performance. This is a Linden Labs issue, and I severely doubt that anyone in the forums can help solve the majority of the lag that people are experiencing.
However, again, for posterity, I will be glad to post my specs for anyone who thinks they know what is wrong:
Athlon XP 3200 Barton 1GB System memory ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB with Catalyst 6.5 drivers Windows 2000 Pro SP4 Lots of defragged disk space free on a separate partition where SL is installed. Running in Windowed mode (doesn't seem to affect performance vs full-screen) NO viruses, spyware, or extraneous performance-sapping programs running in the background.
Symptoms: 1. Horrid, inconsistent frame rates. Difficult to break 20-25fps with extremely low settings in mouselook mode, facing a wall in a corner of a relatively quiet sim, inside a prim which occludes everything. High settings seems to give nearly the same results. 2. Average FPS in the Cathedral in Limbo with a couple toons with me is 2-5 fps. 3. Simply waving the mouse cursor around more than doubles triangle throughput and framerate when the rate is low (2-8 fps). When the frame rate is decent, waving the mouse around HALVES the triangle throughput and consequent frame rate.
It would be nice if someone from Linden Labs would please come in and address these concerns in the forums. I don't want to resort to bugging them directly, but the game has essentially become almost unplayable, no matter what settings I use.

Ok, Suggestion 1
05-27-2006 21:02
Omega Drivers instead of Stock Catalyst drivers. www.omegadrivers.netThey're superior to the stock drivers put out by ATI. Really helpful. Suggestion 2 The latest release 1.10.0 (34) seems to have some SERIOUS sim performance issues that are affecting everyone. So, complaining about this is definitely in order. Now that we understand your problem(s), hopefully someone is listening.

Crashing too!

Okay for two days I have uninstalled, reinstalled.... graphics card, drivers, SL....and even took my computer for maintenance ;/ I have in my computer the following: Asus P5P800 motherboard Intel Pentium 4, 293 ghz 1.5 GB ram ATI Radeon Sapphire 9600xt Windows XP Pro I can log in for about two minutes, then my computer just shuts itself off. I've checked the Bios and my computer is set to auto on Overclocking.... It's the ONLY program that is doing this to me. I have been to three other virtual communities and can be in there with no problems, plus run MSN and Yahoo at the same time. I even tried running "Uru" which is not an online game, but from the Myst series, an extremely graphic intensive game and again no problems. Very poor timing on the Lindens part to do an upload and take a 3 day weekend... I would hate to be their answering machine at this point in time Thanks in Advance if someone can help! Rane
