Not the viewer?!?!?!?

Okay, I appear to have been wrong that it was the viewer, as I am now (finally!!!) back in-world, and am using the optional viewer. Still, it took FOREVER to get in

This is something of an old problem returning called ghosting. Ghosting was pretty common back when there was only a single continent. It has been just an occasional oddity since they fixed it about a year and a half ago but it is becoming a bit more common in the recent updates. When it happens to me it usually is a result of SL crashing on exit and not finishing the logout procedure.

I have seen others as ghosts, and even had people IM me when my ghost was stuck on a sim border, but this was the first time I had been locked out of SL for an hour because of a ghost. I admit that I got pretty irritated and over-reacted, but MAN that is frustrating to be told repeatedly that you cannot sign in because you are being logged out To LL's credit, I was contacted by Joe Linden who made sure that all was okay and that I was able to get back in and that my attachments and inventory were fine.
