Not the viewer?!?!?!?

Okay, I appear to have been wrong that it was the viewer, as I am now (finally!!!) back in-world, and am using the optional viewer.

Still, it took FOREVER to get in :)

This is something of an old problem returning called ghosting. Ghosting was pretty common back when there was only a single continent. It has been just an occasional oddity since they fixed it about a year and a half ago but it is becoming a bit more common in the recent updates. When it happens to me it usually is a result of SL crashing on exit and not finishing the logout procedure.

I have seen others as ghosts, and even had people IM me when my ghost was stuck on a sim border, but this was the first time I had been locked out of SL for an hour because of a ghost.

I admit that I got pretty irritated and over-reacted, but MAN that is frustrating to be told repeatedly that you cannot sign in because you are being logged out :)

To LL's credit, I was contacted by Joe Linden who made sure that all was okay and that I was able to get back in and that my attachments and inventory were fine.
