I'm an old timer, and Ive seen many things get better and ... not so better. I try to cool off when I get upset ... but customer service in Second Life is at an all time low. I've never seen anything like this in any type of business atmosphere.
The Lindens have completely removed themselves from Second Life as far as I can tell. My story ? sure, I'll share it with you. It started on patch day, as usual ...
I log myself in after the patch Wednesday, I come in the world in my home, standing at my desk as usual. I'm Ruthed. No big deal, it happened so many times before, Ill just clear cache and log back in. I do so, I come back in and I'm still Ruthed, I try to go into appearance, wont work. so I log out and go watch a movie. I try to come back in later that evening, Im Ruth again, and I have IM's from customers saying they have paid for items and haven't received them. I check transactions and see the names, I go back and try to drop them the items they paid for, I have no inventory ... at all. I' still Ruthed so I don't worry about it much I just put a major leagued bugged message in my profile so anyone looking knows I'm having SL issues.
Thursday ... I log in the A.M. to find Im still Ruthed, getting a little pissed now. I go to visit a friend and as I get a TP Im booted, I come back into SL in my last location and I'm not Ruthed anymore. WooHoo ! So Im all happy, I stay and visit my friend a little bit then head off to my store to get some work done. I get back to Whiskey, the sim my store is in and notice the lag is like trying to walk through mud. I open my inv and start to put out some work material, and even though I'm not Ruthed, I have no inv. So I log out and log back in, Im Ruth again. So I log out and log in using select a sim or whatever its called. I come into Clarksburg, at Crucials mall across the river from my land. I'm me ! ,and I have inventory ! So I head off to Whiskey again, crossing the border takes almost 5 minutes. I get back into Whiskey and try to pull itmes out, it wont allow me to, it doesn't say unable to rez or anything, it plain and simple wont allow anything out of my INV.
Now I'm not stupid, I know its not my avie thats bugged, its Whiskey, thank god, thats an easy fix, all SL has to do is restart the sim .... yea right ...
Since Thursday I've tried every possible route available to a residen,t to get help. I started with the bug report, got the automated answer. Tried the Region Down Report. no response at all, I called LL, waited on hold, listening to (edited) talk about how to use the "Live help" drop down in game to get help from all the perky live helpers .... then after 20 minutes on hold I'm transfered to voicemail. I think to myself ... now where can I find a Linden ... NOOBIE Island ! yea ! so I head right over there and find (edited) Linden and a couple of the Linden helpers ... no help ... (edited) tells me to file the reports I've already filed , but maybe use upper case letters in the title ...
Friday .... I've tried calling 2 more times, including the direct line, where I, myself, have to pay for the call, again on both calls after 20 minutes of waiting and listening to lies of how "Live Help" can help you, I get shoved to voicemail. I fill out more bug reports, and more region down reports, I clear cache 3 or 4 more times, I'm not having a good time and I'm getting more and more complaints from customers reporting they are buying items and not receiving them. Thus the title to this post ...
WHERE HAVE ALL THE LINDENS GONE !?! Pathfinder !!! are you out there ? Char !!! can you hear me ? has someone taken all the Lindens that cared hostage ??? I'll buy an island, I promise ! just fix the sim I have now so I can make the money to do so !
HELP !!!!

Update
04-29-2007 03:26
Well ... I spent the entire day Saturday trying to get the sim restarted. No luck. I wrote more letters to support, I sent in more bug reports, others in my group that log in on that land and use it, have the same problems, they have sent in reports as well. I tried calling 2 more times, nothing, no reply anywhere. I found another 2006 Linden on orientation island, he told me I'd have to "wait a little longer". When I asked him "how long shall I wait". his words were exactly this ... "S'cuse me ... lol " and he poofed.
Its Sunday morning now, I just tried logging in and I'm Ruthed. I could log in elsewhere, but I need to build my bikes as my tier payment is only days away, and now, after this, my sales are at an all time low. I think the Lindens have left SL on auto pilot, how else could a company that has made multi millions explain such pitiful customer service. No returned calls, no replies, no fixing something that is as easy to fix, as going to the sim, and hitting a button. Thats all they need to do to fix this.
This is bullshit. I know my 85 dollars a month and my leaving Second Life wont hurt you at all, but I promise, I'm looking for somewhere else to spend my money starting now. Your customer service plan is crap, the way you treat people is crap, adious.

Customer service is at an all time low?
When were they ever high or even at a medium level to begin with? This is nothing new, this is the way they've always been.

I had some weird experiences in hwanin. Anyone trying to rez an object or attach an item that was not newly created or aquired could not do so. All building tools worked fine, and things created could be taken into inventory then attached. If you hopped a sim border, everything worked fine. This went on from before the 1hr am downtime, till about 10pm game time. Anyway, requested a sim restart through the "sim down" form, went away for 10 minutes, came back and it was sorted. https://secondlife.com/account/region_down.php

It wasn't even that long ago that I did get live help in world, Thilli. I believe it was just a few months ago (maybe November) I asked for help with a tree over hanging my property and sticking through my roof............the tree was on Linden Land. It took about 30 mins for a response but Lizzie Linden did come to my place and moved the tree for me.
That's the last time I ever saw a Linden though.

The Lindens no longer want to give out candy, or even go near the front door. So they have turned off the lights and are hiding behind the sofa, hoping you go away. Egg the goddam house and festoon their trees with toilet paper.

Tips on finding a Linden
04-29-2007 19:37
Hiya, folks. Thanks for the feedback. Currently, support is in a state of transition precisely because we need to offer all Residents better support, as each of you has pointed out. For info on what is to come with regard to support, see Robin's post at: http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/04/26/introducing-liaison-specialist-teams/In the meantime, if you need support, check out Cyn's post at: http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/04/25/support-update/With regard to "finding" Lindens, many of us hold weekly and bi-weekly office hours. Pick up a copy of the Linden Village note card (Linden Village kiosks are all over Ambleside) for more info on who holds office hours and when. Also, we read the forums, hehe. I am completely open to your ideas on how we Lindens can make ourselves more visible in-world, so keep the comments coming!

From: Heretic Linden I am completely open to your ideas on how we Lindens can make ourselves more visible in-world, so keep the comments coming! Excuse me for perhaps stating the bleeding obvious, but a way for the Lindens to make themselves more visible in in-world is to actually be visible in-world. You may say I'm a dreamer...

When were they ever high or even at a medium level to begin with? This is nothing new, this is the way they've always been. Back in the day Lindens were everywhere and on top of everything, they even showed up at events and hung out with the residents. If you had to wait 30 minutes for a problem to be solved it was a terrible thing BUT ... BUT This is the catch, back then, if they couldn't help you right away, they at least acknowledged there was a problem, and would tell you they would get to it asap. That gave you hope, and built trust. NOW, you get a canned auto reply from the phone, the bug report, and the support email, everything, and no follow up. You get no hope and build no trust with answering machines, it just says "were to busy for you"

From: Heretic Linden I am completely open to your ideas on how we Lindens can make ourselves more visible in-world, so keep the comments coming! You could add an option similar to the Friends list that would show a list of all online liaisons, show their locations inworld, and display beacons like map beacons showing where they are on the grid at the moment. That would make the Linden customer service staff much more visible inworld. Also online liaisons could be make visible to LSL sensors, or just add a command to LSL like llLiaisons() which would return a list with the names of online liaisons, and llLiaisonPos(string name) which would return the location of a particular liaison.

And we will only respond to snail mail requests.

I am completely open to your ideas on how we Lindens can make ourselves more visible in-world, so keep the comments coming! Well step one would be to be inworld more often, even if that means we need more Lindens, in 6 months of huge hours in SL I have only ever seen a Linden from a distance once, Most Australians, ask "what's a Linden?". So a Kanga Linden or Asia Linden might be a good move in the future or else us convicts will continue to rule the grid iterrifying the darkest creatures of the night in the wee hours with our reign of BBQ, beer & prawn (NO THEY ARE NOT CALLED SHRIMP HERE) related body odours Yes some of us bite, but many of us are still quite reasonable about our drama's and would rather meet some one saying "they are working on things" or "sorry I can't help you with this problem, it's not my field of expertise" than nobody to talk to at all. You guys are supposed to be like our royal family inworld we want to know what you are up to see some sign that you guys have a real interest in the grid, not that you seem to be bailing because it's doomed or something.
