Lag....Bandwith

OK .. i got dsl not cable.. so its the slower one.. but anyway as i was loging on yesterday my internet shut off.. and when i do play it lags people in my house when they are playing games. is there anyway to fix this? do i need to change ports? or is there anything to fix this? please help!!!!!

There are options in the preferences that you can change to force SecondLife to use less bandwidth. Being on the 7MB cable I'm on, I haven't even bothered glancing at those settings, but play around with lowering them to see if it helps. :)

nope it dont work it still lags him .. but its only when i move..but mostly flying or editing items ... its werid but thanks for the help

It's likely a bandwidth issue.

Second Life is not a game, and it's certainly not a game from a network standpoint. If the download (or upload, we use plenty of that) on your connection isn't high, you may not be able to run Second Life and another latency-sensitive program on a different machine at the same time.
