8800gt, xp64 -> SL wont load

I just plugged in my shiny new christmas present, trying to get sl to run, and I get the error message about my video card drivers being out of date or unsupported. I am using the 169.21 version of the drivers, which are the newest ones online and run all my other games quite nicely.

From the looks of these other threads there are some issues with the windlight client, and some shiny things, all I want is the regular client to run, and so many threads are saying this is the best card to get, how do you make it run?

Not sure what the issues are on XP64 bit edition but I am happily running an 8800gt with Nvidia driver version 169.21 on XP 32 bit.

That doesn't offer any solutions but it does narrow it down to a 64bit issue.

Every one will run into this "driver out of date" sometime with SL, i have winxp 64bit & vista 64bit, both work with SL.

Its just driver nuisance something got left behind when you installed or upgraded, uninstall vid card drivers, restart, install newer or 1 older, should make that go away.

which version of forceware does work with secondlife on winxp 64?

I have tried several, and they all give the same error. Surely, somebody out there is on the same card and the same OS, that could tell me what version of forceware I need to be running. I also tried the alternate clients hoping one of them would work.

It is tempting to get a new os, but I lack the funds for it, and miss getting on sl. It can be replaced if I must do it though, I am keeping the video card, Ill do whatever else I gotta do to make it work.
