Hello,

I have a toshiba laptop that has an nVidia 6600Go PCIe video card in it and 1GB of ram, this machine never had a problem running second life at all. In fact, I use this machine to play games like half life 2 when Im on the road.

One of the recent updates made it so my laptop can not play this game at all, it will load it fine, connect to it fine, but when I move my avatar anywhere, the entire thing crashes. I am assuming that it is something between the video driver and the game as problems only occur when i move the avatrar and new terrane and objects need to be loaded.

Things ive tried on my machine;

-upgraded bios
-reinstalled video drivers
-reinstalled game

Im just wondering if anyone else out there happens to have a laptop with this video card in it and is expericing similar issues, or perhaps someone has a suggestion as to what to try next. The laptop is a gaming laptop, SL used to be no problem!

Short of reinstalling windows (which im not about to do) I have no other ideas.

Cheers

Hmmm. you haven't moved the cache have you or your HD isn't full correct? Have completely removed all traces of SL then reinstalled? You might try the NGO Nvidia drivers which are 3rd party tweaked drivers that are similar to the Omega drivers for ATI. Also, there are some 3rd party tweaked viewers out now that fix problems LL can't seem to. Nickolaz viewer seems to work very well for me.
