Last night I was heading to an event I was supposed to host when I flew straight into the sim without looking before it even rendered. The land dropped off abruptly into water and sky at the edge of the sim and I tried to turn around to head back. Before I could make it back to the last sim, SL crashed on me. I tried logging back in and it forever said "Connecting to region" but could never connect. That was 3 AM central time this morning. It's now 5:42 PM and it STILL says "Connecting to region". What can I do?!

It may be unrelated but I am having connect problems today also, I have have to try over and over, it will hang at connecting to region but then work if you quit and restart , and once there now the connection is coming and going.
You can always try deleting your cache if you haven't done that already. This never seems to make any difference to me but it might for you.
