Hey there!

Is anyone else having issues with this card? I checked the knowledge base and all it said is that this card, by nVidia, is supposed to run Second Life just fine. In my case, when I start SL all I get is a black screen -- no splash screen or login prompts. Has anyone else had this happen?

So far I've updated the video drivers, the monitor drivers and Direct X to current versions. I've also made sure Windows XP is up to date as well (which it is). I'm not sure what else to do at this point besides returning the card. This same thing happens when I try running "City or Heroes" and "Guild Wars." My older ATI card ran all these things just fine, if a bit slow and without the high performance of a newer card.

And help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I have been running Second Life using this card with few problems other than the normal ones that most people have. Ocassional crash, lag problems etc.

Yes! to problems... however mine are a bit different than yours.
I just threw in a new 7600GT (running Win XP) and installed the latest drivers, as well as updated the chip drivers. I cannot get past the "detecting hardware" before getting the error:

"Second Life is unable to run because your video drivers are outdated or unsupported. Please make sure you have the latest drivers installed"

I have uninstalled, and reinstalled the vid card drivers, as well as tried several different versions of SL... all with the same result. I have even gone so far as to uninstall drivers, and used a driver cleaner, and started fresh, no luck.

In my dxdiag log, it shows the driver date as being 10/04/2007...however the release date for the Nvidia drivers is 11/06/2006. Im not sure what to make of it.

Sorry, I don't have any helpful advice to offer. I've noticed several other people in past threads having various problems with the card, but at the same time I know quite a few folks who use it with no problems,..

Looking forward to what others responses are!
