I've tried this on both my home computer and my laptop, and on both, as soon as I log in, I start flying and am unable to land, even when I tell the program to stop flying. If I shut SL off and turn it back on, I'm fine until I teleport somewhere, then I start flying again. It's slowly starting to get annoying......any tips on what I can do to fix this problem?

It's not just you, and it's apparently going on with both the normal client and the First Look client.
I just removed and reinstalled both, so it can't be a stale setting on the client side.
I think the servers are screwed up somehow. I've had the issue you describe with flying several times now, and just a moment ago I managed to walk about ten feet from the welcome area before the client went wonko and I couldn't stop walking (walked right into the ground, too).
Hmm... make that multiple times now. Something is very screwed up.

Have had this problem off and on at signin. Simple solution, when you see yourself hovering there just above the ground level, try flying upward first, then fly down. Seem sto fix it.

Hirr ok this only happend once as far as i know, but there was a sim awhile ago that had this flying thing, if you stood still awhile it would start to lift your avatar, higher and higher and higher.... and you couldnt fly down O__o ..... quite reverse gravity bug It could be a attachment you have that wanted permition to accellerate (fly stuff) your avatar, didnt get it or just went gaga, and always propels you upwards (this has happend to me), try deattaching eeeverything on you, then relog, tp to another sim (yes youll look like a mess) see if you still fly upwards then
Crossing a simboarder lag, and sends your avatar flyiiing or sinking then bounce back >> I've had the issue you describe with flying several times now, and just a moment ago I managed to walk about ten feet from the welcome area before the client went wonko and I couldn't stop walking (walked right into the ground, too).
