Intermittently I see zero avatar dots on the big map on the main continents. Avatar dots on islands show, there just aren't any displayed on the main continents, both the old one and one up north.
They might show up if you zoom in and wait five minutes, but you have to zoom all around to get them to show up all around.

Zoom waaaay in and then out they will, for some reason avatars dont update on map unless youre at a certain distance -.-

The behavior of the greens dots appearance is extremely different between those of peoples on islands and those of people on the continents. It is not useful to have to zoom in first, the big map loses a great deal of it's value. Sigh, I liked the old map better for my purposes.

Yes this is done on purpose to save the amount of information that is streamed to your client, note that when zoomed out and you see no dots you wont be able to hover over the area and see simnames and population etc
