I have a musician attempting to play live (stream) on my land using his MAC and Nicecast. We cant seem to make it work, but have determined that it works with other systems. Any suggestions out there from MAC or Nicecast users?

Thanks so much.

I use NiceCast to play live, explain your problem in more detail and maybe I can help you :)

One problem you might be having is the form of the URL nicecast gives you when you copy it from the share tab ...

eg...

try removing the "/listen.m3u"

and for your land parcel use only

The above is good for testing NiceCast, but ...

The musician should connect first to an audio streaming relay server and you would use the url provided by the relay ( not the nicecast url ). If there is no relay being used it's likely the broadcaster simply does not have enough bandwidth. Remember each person on the land is a separate listener and requires a stream, so even as few as 4 or more listeners can suck all the broadcasters DSL bandwith. If you want to hold events you must use a streaming service. There are several available in SL, I use JSecure Hanks because he's always been very reliable and helpful to me.
