I also am dealing with this problem. Everything is fine at first after i log on. Then suddenly i am unable to move my character. However i can turn around so things arent totally frozen. I just cannot walk. I also notice i an unable to type while this is happening. Well, i am able to type but my words wont come up on screen.

Hit Control+Shift+1 and look at your ping times, what kind of numbers are we looking at here because it sounds like you're getting packet loss. My ping times are usually under 200 for both Sim and User pings. When it comes to pings lower is better so if you have a really high ping time check any firewall or router settings to make sure SL isn't being filtered in any way.
