Folders and contents disappeared from Inventory

I spent a long time sorting some freebie packages of costumes and wings into a couple of folders in my Inventory. This morning, I noticed that they had disappeared. Some of the items are in my Trash, since I had copy/paste/deleted them while sorting, but the majority are utterly gone.

I realize that I can just go and find the freebie packages again, but I'd like to save myself the time and effort of re-sorting them, if possible.

I am quite the newbie here (just started Tuesday), so I don't know if there's a limit on the amount on things you can have in your Inventory, or what it could be.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear that. :(

Recently, the Inventory has been taking a while to fully load, so my first question is: Are you just waiting long enough for stuff to show up? If you're new, it shouldn't take very long, but sometimes I click through to some folder and for a little while, it looks like nothing's in there. Very disconcerting.

My second question is: Do you have the Debug menu open and, if so, have you been messing around in it? There is an option in there that I believe dumps everything in your Inventory, so.. :( I would think that would dump the Trash too, though, so.. I don't know. Obviously, I haven't experimented with that option. :)

If it's neither of those things and, after more people have given suggestions, the items still truly aren't anywhere in your Inventory, including the Trash, I would try contacting support..

Sometimes they roll back SL a little if there's an error and, because of that, you'll lose some recent work, but I don't think that's happened recently, and I don't think it would DELETE everything in your Inventory, anyway, so I don't think that's it..

There is no harm in bringing this to support after you try everything you can think of, though, because this sort of thing shouldn't happen ever, and by reporting it, you'll help ensure that it doesn't happen to anyone else. :)

Thank you.

I don't even know what the Debug thing is, so hopefully, I don't have that activated. :)

Not everything is missing in the Inventory, just my Costumes folder, which had a bunch of subfolders in it.

I will e-mail support since I can't seem to get a response in Live Help.

Thanks Nikolaii :)

You'd know if you had the Debug menu, since you have to type in a command to get it. :) And if there is still stuff in your Inventory, then that's not it anyway. I'm glad!

Hopefully support will be able to help. :) Good luck!

Run search

Hi Tabitha, I would suggest that you use the search option in the inventory. It doesn't matter what you put in to search for, say just put in one letter. This will force SL to stream in your entire inventory. It may take awhile but it works for me.

Hope this helps you.
