Hi, i have a shop and now there is a resident who bought an item out of my vendor. This resident claimed that it didn't get the item. Standing next to this person i tried to buy the specific item in the vendor and it delivers me the item as it should be. So it worked. I told this person to look good in its inventory under specific name of the item. But this person keeps on claiming that it didn't get the item. Another two residents tried to buy this item too and they recieved the item from the vendor. There's no limit of deliviries on the vendor. Now this persons keep asking the ld's back (we're not talking here about 10 ld but a much more larger amount) so before i give it back i want to know if this person really didn't get the item. How can i find out if this person did get the item or not did get the item?

Unfortunately, this happens in SL. Pretty much the only way to find out if they got it is to look at their account log in the SL website, but you need their password for that (so, obviously, this is a no-go).

Usually the best recourse is to give the person the object. If they're telling the truth (and it IS possible), no harm. If they're lying, would you rather give them 2 for the price of 1, or 1 free one? Your choice. Or you can do nothing and possibly suffer damage to your reputation as a vendor.

Not only does this happen, I've had it happen to me, while testing my friend's vendor. Not a new script, just a new product, making sure the permissions on the sold objects were correct. SL was responding very slowly at the time, and sometimes my attempt to pay failed and other times that succeeded but I got no object in my inventory (and, IIRC, no error message about it either). And other times it succeeded.

SL is unreliable so thats why ill never buy a no copy / transfer object in SL, if i lost it and ask for a new one can be refused as they wouldnt know if i actually lost it or gave it away.

I lost over 100000L$ worth of anims/objects/texturestuff, so never again.

I've had my shop open 3 months now. At first I was skeptical when some people claimed their item didn't arrive, but by now I've learned that SL is just unreliable. When people tell me they didn't receive their purchase, I ask them to check their objects folder and trash, if they still don't have it, I give them the item. Sadly there is no real way to verify wether the transfer took place. However I did see on the blog yesterday they have installed a server patch which is supposed to make thransfers like this more reliable. Only time will tell if it helps. :)

For the answers. The object were cop mod no trans but now i know what i can do best. Better give this person the item then give this person a refund. I asked this because this person only wants the money back instead of the item to be delivered (a second time) so i think that's strange. To give this person the item again, i think that's no problem. It can happen that the item wasn't delivered but when someone ask money back, i don't know.

But thanks again and i also hope it will be more reliable in the future

How about have the person do a copy and paste of their transactions from the web?
