Windows Update Problem!

Just installed the windows explorer update and now sl wont runat all. Graphics have gone mental and I crash within about 20secs of logging in.I'm in the middle of running anevent too..arghhhhhh!! Someone Help!

Use Windows restore to go back to a time when you did not have that problem. If you are using XP go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and System Restore. If you are using some other version I can't remember exactly where System Restore is But I don't think anything older than XP will run SL anyway.

If that clears your problem then shut down SL and go back to System Restore and turn it off.........reboot to finish that part. When you have windows up and running again go back to system restore and turn it back on and reboot again. That should clear all your restore points except the one created by Windows when you rebooted after turning the restore back on. If you want to make sure you can go to your disk clean up utility and after doing the clean up there is a tab to free up more space on your hard drive. Do the delete all but the last restore point ( would go and make a special restore point first myself...........do that by going back to System Restore one more time and creating new restore point instead of restoring).

If you want to take the time now is a good time to defrag too Then go to SL and make sure you are still able to use it. If so, then try Windows Update again.......I've never had a Windows Update screw my SL. I check Windows Update daily and take all critical updates listed...........and most of the recommended too.
