Connecting to Region.... (Not Responding)

Thats exactly what happens, I try to log in and as soon as I get to Connecting to Region.. it freezes up and goes Non Responsive. No clue whats going on here as it was working just fine yesterday and now today, I got nothing.


PC Specs:
AMD 64 3300+ Processor
nVidia Geforce 6200 Vid card 256 MB
Soundblaster Audigy ZS2 Platinum
512 MB RAM

My rig is pretty good so I have no idea whats wrong, everything works fine.

Sometimes, the simplest solutions to this are the easiest ones. They're worth a spin.

1. If you installed any new Internet security software or made any changes in that dept., temporarily disable it to see if you can make it through.
   

1. If that doesn't apply, turn off your whole computer and things like your router, unplug them for several minutes, and then everything back on. Just a full power cycle flush.

I am king of simple, have already done both of those, even disabled my firewall and still stops responding at "Connecting to Region"

Do you get the same results with Preview 1.9?

And have you also tried changing home login point?

Ok I tried the Preview and still locks up when connecting to Region. My room mate has no problem getting on her end of the router and we have our ports set up correctly, like I said, everything worked fine last night. I have done a complete virus scan and nothing there either so I am again clueless. And I have no idea what you mean but changing home login point??

Sometimes, I crash and can't get back into a region. So... I do this:

PREFERENCES ---> GENERAL ---> LOGIN LOCATION button to MY HOME.

If that doesn't work, I close SL and click on a link like this: secondlife://Plum

The end result being it'll log me into a different place.

Just to isolate, is it possible for you to attempt connecting without a router? Just in case it might be one of the settings?

Oh yea I have tried changing locations and still the same error. As for trying without the router, not yet but I'll go do that now and get back to you in a few.

Ok sorry it took so long to get back to you on this, rough night. But I tried connecting without the router, just straight from the modem and still same result on 1.8 and 1.9Preview. I dunno whats going on and I am quite tempted to reformat now, which sucks cuz everything else seems to work fine. Any more suggestions?

AAAAAHHHHH WHAT IS EXACTLY HAPPENING TO ME TODAY!!! I cannot get on, so much time wasted, 5 hours! Cannot log onto the main grid, the prievew grid, tried making a new charecter and still never got through. Really annoying as i really have nothing to do on my weekends except watch tv and sports and maybe hang out but today was my second life day lol. and its almost 3:24 (chicago time) I wander if anyone else is expierencing this? I have tried everything you all have said and more. Maybe some bug or something (pulls out hair)

Have you tried deleting the second life cache directpry? or maybe jus unistall it and reinstall -sompler thats helped me with woerd issues in past
