I'm not sure what could be causing this, since I've only had this problem since 1.6 but I wanted to see if it was something that I can fix on my end. I tend to change clothing/skins rather often and I've found that after about 1-2 texture changes for any part of my body, texture loading for that part slows down immensly. Everyone else loads the texture as normal, but all I end up seeing is a grey AV. Eventually, I will no longer see any clothes on my body, even if I switch to something previously loaded. All I can do is relog and then the cycle starts again. Does anyone know what causes (or could cause) this and what I can do to fix this? I don't like logging every 5 minutes when I'm trying to decide what to wear.

I have noticed a similar issue lately. The textures of the trees and flowers on my land do not rez as quickly as they used to. When turning my av around...the textures go gray or an 'invisible gray' and try to rez again. This has become rather annoying as I have not changed anything in preferences and do not have any issues pc-wise.
When changing clothes, sometimes I have to relog to get them to change. I usually go into appearance mode after changing clothes, as that has a tendency to speed up rezzing. Lately, I would put on a skirt...and it would show me wearing a skirt I had on 2 changes ago or I will just be a sickly gray color. Skins do the same thing. I haven't really had this issue before and am hoping the update will resolve whatever is happening. I know I'm not the only one who has had this issue lately.
I have also noticed more lag than usual the past week or so as well. I seem to notice more issues occuring before an update is about to take place...

If you have internet security or firewall software installed, you're going to have to tweak it after an update, ESPECIALLY if it's Norton. Most post-update woes are the result of other software reacting badly to a Second Life update. See more here: http://secondlife.com/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=TechConfigFirewall

Nala, I don't know if this will help, but you might try increasing your outfit composite limit if it is set real low. While I haven't had the problem you are having, there have been times when texture loading on avatars has been slow, resulting in gray av skins, and the problem has gone away by increasing the outfit composite level a bit.
