I am trying to redefine the default object texture so that plywood appears as something else. There is no utility to this. I am just screwing around. It seems like I used to know how to do this but I don't remember how I did it, if I actually did. The system has changed a bit now; there are xml files instead of the former ini files for some things. LSL Wiki on ClientAssetKeys

and if someone knows how to do this, how about redefining the loading texture  , I want to do away with gray.

My understanding is the the gray with white outline is not produced as a texture.
I have looked and looked and looked for that texture; if it's around it is well hidden.
The so-called plywood texture has a UUID of 89556747-24cb-43ed-920b-47caed15465f .
This key appears in the secondlife.exe file, it might be a matter of patching the exe file with a different key.
There is a slew of stuff in the Secondlife program folder in a file called viewer_art.ini, but I don't see the plywood texture defined in there.
