Problem with texture animation in linked prims when attached - new bug in 1.6?

Yay! Thank you, please disregard this thread!

I've been working on some new clothing attachment that uses animated textures in a new way for some pretty nifty special effects.

Now with 1.6 they don't work anymore. Only the "root" prim works right.

Every other prim in the attachment that's supposed to be smoothly animating jerks around irregularly - like once every few seconds. >_<

I thought the problem might be with the timer in linked attached prims, but when I put in a whisper command it was still going at the right speed... but not the texture animation..

I really hope I'm doing something dumb, or this can be addressed in a future release 'cause I'd been building a library of effects that relied on this and now it's all useless!

(;_;)

Oh I should add that they work just fine when I rez them in the world not attached...

Okay... I'm guessing nobody else sees this. How can I best report this as a bug to LL? Any advice? TY!

I just did a small test. TextureAnim does not appear to be functioning in child prims in attachments. I'm fairly sure this is a new issue.

Test:

1 prim, single texture animation call in state entry, copy said prim 5 times, link all prims.

At this point you have 6 prims in a link set all animating.

Upon "wear"ing the object all animations save the parent stop animating. Reset or recompile does NOT restore the animation in child prims.

"drop"ing the object does not restore the animation. Reseting or recompiling scripts will now restore child animation.

i mentioned this issue in combination with the streaming video problems. both seem to have problems with linking.

I can confirm this, and not just for attachments. The texture animations I use in the child prims of one of my projects are very intermittent, if they work at all. The animation is simple: just a little blinking light on a game board. It's supposed to switch between black and a color every half second, but it tends to be slow and completely intermittent since 1.6. I haven't tested in 1.6.1 yet... not even sure if it's released.

This is effecting vehicles too, so its pretty wide spread. Go grab a linden freebie bike... the wheels dont work right most of the time now.

So how do we report this to LL to get fixed?

Oh, well, you'd bug-report from the help menu, but I've already reported this. I didn't report the attachment-specific issues, though, so you probably should report too.
