FACT: Calleta is one of the InfoHubs that sees the highest number of incoming newbies in SL. Look at the traffic numbers.
FACT: Many Slers are born at Calleta, home to the Hobos.
FACT: Calleta's technical issues are out of control. It is common to crash there 3 or 4 times an hour. All too frequently, the region is a sea of grey goo. Lag can get so bad that it becomes hard to even type.
FACT: Frequent visitors to Calleta - the Hobos - have taken it upon themselves to implement emergency measures to reduce traffic and rapidly educate and funnel new users to the most appropriate regions. This has helped but in no way corrected the problem.
GOAL FOR THIS NEW THREAD: Let's open a discussion here to determine what can be done to correct this problem.
