Why is it that the front page says there is over 3,700 people on line and yet I get a message saying the grid is down? I spent 2 hours trying to get on earlier then i finely get on for 5 min. before having to do RL now back to an hour so far of logging!! WTF???

Well, it kinda happend like this, grid comes up, people flooed in, it was broken, some stayed (god only knows why, or what they are able to do). Then LL turned the log-in to gods only, so the ones that stayed are still in, if they leave then can't come back...

Hey, at least you can try to log in. After the update my client now crashes every time I try to open it. If someone told me Mac support would expire after a few months I wouldn't have signed up.

Thank you, at least now we have a time frame so am i correct to understand it will be unreachable for 2 more hours right?

Well I'll go make textures for a couple hours then :o)

Try deleting the Second Life folder from ~/Library/Application Support/ (~ means in your home directory). Also delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.secondlife.indra.viewer.plist (the preference file). After an update those two are sometimes messed up. The total nuke option is to delete the above, plus the app & redownload that.

However, I suspect some of the problems are grid related -- you may want to hold off on it till the grid is accessible again.
