Every time I go to log out, for about a month or more now (and I've reported this a lot) the game just "crashes" but there is no option to send a report the game just closes. The "progress bar" to logging out never goes more than 1/10 the way and the game shuts down.

When I log in, in my Recent Items tab, I'm seeing stuff from months ago to things I just bought. I'm guessing it's not saving properly when I log out? I really don't know but I'm afraid of losing things and I am tired of this problem (both.) A asked several people on my list and friends I play with that I know out of SL and most of them are experiencing both these issues.

I really hope this is looked into and fixed before you add genital 4 support or flapping shirt sleeves 9 or some other feature of uselessness. I'd like the current game to work. I'm getting tired of losing stuff, crashing and the two bugs above. The game for many people I know, including myself is becoming unplayable. Thankfully the Hellgate London beta is out. I keep hoping one day I will log into SL, check the blog or hear from a friend that these problems are fixed. That these lost items are returned to us.

Try upgrading your computer, more memory would probably help. Also, make sure your OS is fully updated, and your drivers are fully updated. Sounds to me like you have a system that's meeting the general requirements, but that's just barely good enough. Also, a better video card would help. What you're describing is DEFINATELY an issue on your end. I get tired of seeing posts of people whining about problems that are not LL's fault. Trust me, LL is at fault for alot of stuff, but you need to uphold your end as well. If you want to run with the big dogs, you're gonna need to keep up. If you want a 3D game your machine can handle play FS1 or Wolfenstein 3D.

It's definitely NOT an issue on my end. I have over 13 pcs here, and I just said other people I know have the same problem. Right now i have the TOP OF THE LINE Alienware. I work on games for a job. My pc is fine. It's SL. I've had this problem on various rigs and various friends have had it as well. There is NO HIGHER upgrade for my pc. Plus I am a hardcore gamer so I always have the best machine.

And for the record I'm working with NEXT GEN engines at my job. It is -NOT- my end DEFINITELY. I dislike when people assume stuff like that. I work on games, SL is weak and old compared to most pc games I'm working on, or playing on my rig. "it sounds like your system isn't meeting the general requirements and barely blah blah" Your post - Too funny. Nothing in my initial post speaks of my computer specs. My current pc is the best you can get now, the last 4, technically 8, are above the requirements of little SL. Let me guess next, my connection? Nope I'm on a t1 ain't that. Bottom line is my pc is fine, everything on my end on several machines I run here is fine. It's something I noticed happening several patches back, and I narrowed it down to the exact patch and already filed a lot of bug reports.

I probably get newer pcs more than people get their hair cut a year (due to my job.) A friend of mine playing running some low end card from 2002 and 1 gig of ram isn't getting the problem heh. I'm running a warship of a pc and I get the problem... and on my other rigs sitting around here. It emerged with a specific patch and it hasn't gone away since.

Recent items does not clear on log out

Since about end May my recent items folder does not clear on log out. This is true for ALL my
PCs - 4 of them, all running Win XP and two of them brand new, a laptop and a desktop. I have all the latest drivers and SP2 and all that. Anyone with a similar problem?

If everyone could just cool their tempers I'm sure we can figure things out.

If you could post your Second Life log file BloodDoll, we could see where the client is crashing (it's hard to say what is going on without it).

When was the last time you updated Quicktime, it might be QT thats causing the crash.
Try disabling your anti-virus, anti-spyware & 3rd party firewalls if you have them installed, this problem might be due to a bug in a third party app hooking SL.

My quicktime is the newest and I already disabled all those things when I run sl. This problem is happening on not only several windows machines of mine including some running nothing but what is needed for gaming, but even my mac (i just tested this today.)

Last night I asked a few more people including a new resident to the game and they too had the problem. One of them recorded a video of how it looks and that is indeed what is happening. It doesn't look like a "crash" but when you click log out, the screen showing the progress bar for logging out comes up, the progress bar never moves at all or maybe about 10 to 15% of the bar and the game just closes. It seems like it's shutting down early and it's doing that on every machine I can test it on, windows or mac. If I get a normal SL crash, I do get the report option, but the log out itself is what I'm focusing on here, it just isn't right.

Also the recent items tab problem, but I found some posts on various forums and the blog a lot of people seem to be having that issue. It's not really causing a problem that I know of but it makes that recent items tab useless. Things I bought 4 years ago to 1 week ago are randomly show up in there, it doesn't matter the age. They never clear out as recent. They just stay there daily.

Both of these problems happened awhile back after one specific patch. There was a Thursday night to Friday morning asset loss issue in either late May. People were putting things on the ground and then they would try to take it back into their inventory and it wouldn't work properly. The items "ghosted" as well on the ground until you would log out and back in to see nothing and have lost the item. After telling "hey don't drop anything on the ground and have a great weekend, we'll fix it monday" blog post, there was a patch a couple days into that next week. I think 2-3 patches (some were optional) to fix this. They said some database went bad. Anyway those set of patches are when I started having the recent items bug. Then there was an update a few weeks after that, and since that update, when you log out the game doesn't appear to shutdown properly. Recent items bug got sort of worse at that point too. Before it was just the new stuff you bought showing up. Suddenly older things started showing. It's a mess.

And it still continues after the latest patch on august 2, instead of fixing current issues and I see a lot of others too in the JIRA, they added voice.

Thank god I read this. I seriously thought it was just a few people this happened to because it's been way over a month my recent items tab has been useless, and the friends I have spoken to are having the same issue. It seems as if Linden hasn't even acknowledged the problem. I understand theres alot of issues recently with the game, but this started way before any of these other issues popped up. PLEASEEE FIX OUR RECENT ITEMS TAB:(

Recent Items has changed a bit. You need to File > Show Filters in Inventory.

Then check Since Logoff.
