I'd like to log a complaint against Linden labs for the following reasons.
I was updating my texture organizer for new pictures, i had dropped it on the ground and added 50 new pictures to it, and then the sim crashed. I came back and there is nothing.
I followed process and filed a bug report and i was told by the technican that he cannot find my texture organizer and that was the end of it. I had no compensation, every indication that i was NOT getting my texture organizer back.
Here is the problem... I had 100's of uploaded textures. Most of these were screenshots of my life in SL and those cannot be replaced. Not to mention, the 1000's of Lindens that i have lost due to the picture uploading fee.
I dont think it is fair that i just have to live with loosing this data, I'm sorry your server hiccuped but i should not be the one that looses because of your mistake. I would like something done asap and this message to reach someone higher up. I'm starting to fear that nobody cares about my loss and im just going to have to live with loosing a item. This is very unacceptable and im sadden the way my loss was handled makes me not want to do anything in this game for fear i could loose something and never get it back. Very unfair that i am the victim here.

you uploaded textures, then put in a prim, dropped it on ground, server crash, but you loose the ones in inventory to?, how on earth did you manage that.
Only way you could loose the one in inventory if you have the texture in no copy or deleted them after you dropped them into the prim, wich make no sense,
Tried the usual, clear SL cache, force inventory update by searching for anything wait till its done (shows number top bar inventory) and they should be there. (this usually work when you cant find a thing you just uploaded and cant find it as inventory didnt bother updating)
SL is pretty crappy update day+3 after ish, so i never do squat as it will easy crash and burn.

I remove the pictures from my inventory once there in the organizer. This has been my process ever since i got the oganizer. I never thought this would happen.
and the technican said he couldn't find it either.

Ah, you should always keep a backup of everything you can (you should do this with anything regarding computers). Was the organizer copyable? If it was then perhaps you still have a copy in your inventory. If not, then there is not much you can do. What happens when you drag something from your inventory to the sim that is not copyable the object is frist copied to the sim then when confirmed it made it, deletes it from your inventory (happens very quickly). But the problem is if the sim crashes and didn't do a state save beforehand anything that was changed in the sim since the last state save (objects added) is lost and there is nothing you can do about that. It probably is still in the asset server, but without a UUID you are looking for a needle in a humunious haystack. Perhaps they will find it, but I doubt it (I hope for your sake I am wrong).
In short always keep a backup copy of anything you can. So keep all your photos in your photo album folder in your inventory as well in your organizer. Then if it happens again you can recreate your organizer. And as I said keep a backup of everything you can and don't drop objects that are not copyable right after a update or if you are seeing lag as this is the most likely the times when objects can be lost. If you follow these suggestion the chance that you will loose something is greatly reduced.
