ok, i'll admit first off that i am no computer tech. but here's my question...
are the login problems and lag and freezing due more to software problems in SL or are they due to a lack of servers/memory/bandwidth/ooooomph in whatever form it would take?
in other words, is there enough hardware running to support all this usage?
been wondering that since i first couldn't log in. and no, i can't log in right now. bleah.

I'm not technical enough to know what the issue is (neither is the SL technical support apparently). However, I do know that for the amount of money that I...and many other members are paying for service....this game should be damn near perfect.
I can't understand for the amount of monthly membership fees paid..that the most simple thing....ie, logging into the game.....can't be accomplished. Let alone the lag, the absolutely obscene rezzing times, the frequent crashes and hardboots to one's computer, etc, etc, etc.
I've been here a while and I've never seen it this bad. Every time they have an update, I'm literally afraid to load it. Its always an unmitigated disaster which each update. You generally update..then have 2 or 3 days before the game is somewhat stable again. I mean every....single....time. And now this log in nonsense. ITS LOGGING IN. I mean, how much more basic can you get??????
Who needs a new website...I hardly give a crap....the only time I log in here is when I can't freaking log on to the game. (hey, maybe they wanted everyone to see the new website so they crashed the game?)
Anyway...I have decided that I'm selling off as much land as I can and taking my membership down to the bare bones until I find a better online game. I'm sure someone will come up with one eventually. I'm sick of the crappy form letters everytime I ask for help. I'm sick of this game crashing my computer. I'm sick of not being able to perform the most basic actions when I'm trying to play.
The amount of money they charge users for this garbage is practically criminal.

I doubt its your computer, log in are a pain and im on euro times. normally when its later and more people from log on, i have major problems logging in. Daytime for me is easy since SL is so empty, weekend later at day, nearly impossible now,, Its gotten alot alot worse.  i dont have land or pay so its no big deal for me, but the people out there who pay , i wouldnt - the problem they are having now is so huge, i can mention so many things gone wrong the last days. And guess what i just crashed, trying to change AV's ,,, asset server went ???? crash, came back (after 5 logins) and my skin has magically changed to skin + clothes im not wearing. ffs this is getting old. |
