Client Memory Leak or Virtual Reality leaking out

I jsut want to say I am having really bad memory leak problems with the client using up 1 GB of memory or more and then crashing.

Can I politely say memory leak problems are not acceptable and not sure what some problems exist in the code. There are many tools now days that help find things things.

Anyway, i would like to say a lot more, but is anyone else having such problems. I am using Windows XP SP2.

First I use the OnRez viewer, however I've noticed the same problem in the SL viewer as well.. so YES I've seen the memory leak, just yesterday I confirmed for myself that it exists in BOTH viewers.

Also it appears to mostly related to the number of areas I visit.. if I'm hopping from sim to sim, I can choke my system in about 30-40 minutes.. with almost a gig of memory usage. Relog/Restart the client and I'm good for another 30-40..

If I stay in ONE sim for hours, then I have no problem at all and memory seems to sit at around 250-300 megs.

Yes this is what I've been suspecting is at the root of my problems I've been having lately with things looking so washed out in programs when I'm running SL too. I came to see if anyone else was noticing a memory leak.

I am having the same problem, I will be fine for about a hour or so, then I tp around and suddenly I can't look in camera and things hang and nearly crash the client. A few times it has crashed the Client.

Me too. Over a gig of memory used..I just don't understand why its doesn't dump out or clear itself.

If Nicholaz can solve this, why can't the LL folks?

i haven't logged for weeks now because of that - i can't stay online for more than 10 mins with all graphics and media turned to 0
i don't trust 3rd parties like nicolaz...
