I'm a new user. This afternoon I was finally able to spend long enough in the game to change my appearance a little. It lasted about 20 mins. Before that and since then, I've maxed out at about 2 minutes. For the past hour or two, I've only got so far as the game asking me if I want streaming audio. Before I can answer, I'm out. The whole thing shuts down. If I don't get asked, it'll take me all the way to the first instant of gameplay.

I've made no changes. I'm sure firewalls and competing programs aren't to blame. I'm sure my computer meets all the basic requirements.

One odd occurence: I have an ATI Radeon 9600 video card, with a Mobility M10 device driver. I downloaded a new driver, but can't install it. The installation program that came with the driver tells me to revert to a basic VGA driver and try again...so I uninstall the driver and reboot. When I reboot, the M10 driver automatically installs itself before I can get started on my new driver.

That doesn't really bother me, since my card and driver were working great before and are still fine. It's just the only other weird thing to happen today.

A-holes? Well excuse us for not dropping at your feet to serve and obey you.

It took me a whole weekend and a lot of searching (and a hardwarereplacement) just to get in to SL. And now it works. Without any namecalling. (well, i yelled at my computer once, but that's ok)

I hope you like this game, Pyotr and sure hope you don't keep up this attitude. ;)

Well screw you too. A lot of us have better things to do than spend every waking moment here. We all help out on this forum because we want to help people. None of us get paid to offer support here.

It's a good thing that you're the exception, not the rule, or there would be NO help here at all. I'm sure every tech here has had to put up with people like you who for some unknown reason feel ENTITLED to our hard-won experience as if we're obligated to hand it out.

You've made my ignore list. Not because I don't want to hear about what issues you're having, but so that I'll remember NOT to help you out in the future. There are other people here who are much more deserving of my time

Since the issue seems to resolved itself, i will lock this thread.
