So it continues..
Day after day..
Week after week..
Month after month...

Fixes, patches, bandaids but no true fix to the CORE of Linden Labs system.
I for one have given up and am looking moving professional investments and
clients into the NEXT SL clone. Clone.. oh yes.. they are being built as we speak.

See many smart businesses have sent forth representatives to see this wonderful
SECOND LIFE world that has gotten so much hype. Problem is.. its just that. HYPE.

What an amazing platform with endless possibilites..
Accept.. the lag.
the ongoing and impossilbe frustraitions associated with it simply running like SH*t.

Oh investors came.. companies came.. I know.. I assisted many representatives
here. But they also left.. Never to look back. And its not the idea for the reason
they packed thier bags.. IT was the system of operation itself.

It simply ... works like hell.

I gave a conference to several area businesses... showing the world on a large
overhead and explaining the possibilites of its marketing potential as it applies
to some of my clients. Not a single person WASN'T Impressed. I asked them
to join me in world and allow me to tour them on some existing companies and
what is being done in this new world. Need I say what happened?

3 Made it past the welcome center.. The rest.. frustraited with the impossible
lag refused to take it a step further.

Out of the 3.. 2 crashed in mid game and never relogged on.

My last client.. stuck with me untill we were separated because I teleported
to the IBM islands.. and he was unable to TP anywhere. Lost.. Alone... then...
Logged out.

IT was over.

I was and am a laughing stock of a sales rep taking others time to show them
a world i had beleived in.

LL has shot themselves in thier foot. Although they have the money to rebuild the entire world wide web.. they refuse to invest it into the technology sector and get this platform working. Its too late.. and other companies are in development of worlds that will rival this one and do what Linden Labs started.

Leaving SL in the dust.. Its not long before a true 3d metaverse is among us replacing the web and shopping as we know it as well as advertising and marketing abroad.. but it wont be linden labs doing it. nor.. will any of us still
be here in SL when it hits.

Sony is on it already.. although in an infancy.. but still.. its comming..
Linden Labs lost it.. but the idea is there.
And those with more business savvy and no fear of investment are working to
bring you a virtual world.... Its comming..

Since 2003 youve been here live SL...
4 years and you still cant spend millions or billions or whatever its going to take to make this platform work??? Shame on you..
I watch you daily sink to your own demise like a dinosaur in a tarpit.

Home is the Sony version of The Sims Online with lots of features found on SL but really, if SL had a single platform with identical specs it would be virtually problem free. That is the console's strength compared to the PC but it also means it's gonna be very cookie cutterish and I doubt building is gonna be a high priority. See any furry avatars, robots or a bag lady in any of the scenes? I didn't so everyones basically going to be urban, middle class and Caucasian in fashions by Target? Bleh. Perfect place to sell crap but the adults with money are on SL.

Some seem to think that because LL is the only one doing what they are doing with virtual life they are the only ones that can do it. Their idea with the platform they have chosen to make SL possible with all the content creation by the users is truly "cutting edge".........I don't think many will argue with that. But what makes these same people think that anyone with the same skills at LL can't do it (and there are many out there)..........and do it better? Linden Labs has made some huge mistakes along their way to building SL. Others will know those mistakes and not make them again (I would hope, anyway). The solutions to LL's troubles are there. LL knows that and anyone who follows will know too...............and they will have an advantage since they will not have to spend the money only to learn that it didn't work the way it was thought it would. In other words, they will avoid the problems all together. Will the next generation SL be problem free? Hahahahah...........not hardly. But I bet it's better than SL number 1.

LL is locked into many things having spent the money going in the direction they are going and changing now is nearly impossible due to financial restraints I'm sure they are experiencing. Any investor in LL is going to be a little hesitant to finance a complete make over after spending the money already for SL. Most of LL's problems as far as I can tell is lack of business 101 skills. They are obviously geniuses in the technology field but oh so ignorant of running a business. Their total lack of customer support, wishfull thinking about leaving their world up to the users to play nice and not need any rules, and constant whining to us to please be patient show me show me they know next to nothing about creating a business that is fair and successful.

Second Life's days are numbered. People will stay I know..........but there will be a mass exidus of most users as soon as another community similar to SL opens for business. Maybe that's what LL wants..........it seems that way to me.

ok... a few things, something said in the video that yelled in my ear "purchase from the sony store" sounds like everything you can get would be from Sony, which defeats the basis behind SL, where WE create our own world. Sony's platform means good by to content creation, which is a big thing on SL, with its own economy, taking away the appeal for corporations to want to enter the platform, as they will want to create their own content, which they can do on SL. Another thing, is that this will be exclusive to the PS3, which means. that there won't be the coverage that can be covered by SL, there are way more computers out there then there are PS3's, and I doubt that someone would drop the kind of money that a PS3 costs, just to be a part of that platform. I don't think this will hurt SL at all.

I don't think Sony is the one to take over for SL. I don't know who it will be.........but someone will. Sony's "Home" is not the second coming of SL...........nothing more than a game like the sims. But corporations won't stay in SL as long as it "works" (meaning it does not work a lot of the time) like it does at the present time. Who knows what corporations are thinking? All we know is that they will only invest in businesses that fill their needs. And a big part of filling their needs means taking care of the base.....or users. LL fails miserably on that part.
