Is anyone out there running SL (and running it well) on a laptop from Dell? Can you please tell me which model you have and the specs? I need to replace my old laptop and want one that will run SL when I travel. Thanks!!!!

I run off of a Dell Laptop. I have the Inspiron 600M and SL runs just fine for me. I have slight lag issues due to the wireless connection and when I have multiple computers on the net at the same time, but thats to be expected. I don't have the specs of it right now, but I do know that its a Pentium M processor and has 512k memory. Its one of their lightweight laptops that is under 5 lbs. So, it would be good for travel. If you hit me up in game tonight, I can give you the exact specs from the computer itself

Very nice! Thanks. Did you order a special graphics card or is the standard Dell one satisfactory?

I'm running SL on a 17" Inspiron 9200. 1.8GHz Pentium M w/ 1GB RAM. Video driver is ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 Series w/ 128 MB Video RAM. The laptop is large and heavy, but SL runs like a dream.

Well *hangs head in shame* SL was the only reason I bought the laptop so I know that I was very specific about the graphics card. lol
I had one that worked just fine but the video was not good enough for me to run the game. So I got a new one as a happy birthday to me.
Ask me about the video tonight. I know I got into specific conversations with Dell about the video. I can't remember if I opted to get the upgraded card or try it with what they have. I think I up graded to an Nvidia but I can't remember *blame it on the fact I just put an order in for a bunch of laptops at work and all those specs are swarming my head right now...lol*

I played SL for over a year on a Dell latitude C840 and still do when I work out of town. it runs it pretty good, but not able to have all the eye candy turned on. The specs are:
P-IV-M 2.4 60 GB HDD CD-R / DVD-ROM 512 MB memory 15.1 XGA LCD GeForce4 440 Go 64MB Ram

I recently bought an Inspiron 9300 with a upgraded graphics (GF6800) and it's working very well for me. The XPS is also obviously a good choice (it's designed for games), but the i9300 was far less expensive with nearly the same feature set.

Just a quick chiming-in to say that SL runs beautifully on my Inspiron 1150. I use its built-in wireless to talk to my cable modem (via a router of course). No complaints here!
