The list in this picture is supposedly in order by name, but if that's true, shouldn't the ones that start with 3 all be together?  I hope there is an order I am not seeing, the idea of the inventory systems being unable to maintain lists in correct order is kind of disturbing to me. |

There is an order, the single digits are in order, then the two digits, then the three digits.
It does seem an odd way to do it.
And what is a box of fear?

Looking farther down the list I don't see the order you suggest being followed.
Given that Linden Lab is wanting to delete what might be the only instance of things we have created or purchased that are in our trash on the basis of date it would be nice to think they have mastered such basic tasks as sorting a list in alphanumeric order.

Since they go: 1 Light 1-1 1M 2D 2m 2T 3-1 3:29 4 3:29 4 3P 3r 3r 4 by 4T 4T 5 W 01S 03S 10 F 21 F 30 m 60 D 60 D 999 f ^T What I meant was it appears they say Sort where first character is a number, but is not followed by a number, then sort where first two characters are numbers, but are not followed by a number, then sort where first three characters are numbers, but are not followed by a number, etc. SuezanneC did say that the items further down the list that we can't see don't support this, so there must be other items that start with numbers. Also, Andrew Linden posted that the asset server, which holds all of our inventory, is acting up. Maybe that is why it is sorting in an odd manner. Again, sorry I wasn't clearer in my first post.
