I've noticed a couple people having freeze problems, but none quite like mine. I hope someone can recognize what it might be.
First off, SL runs pretty well for me at the moment, however from time to time, the game freezes my system. It's odd, first the game freezes, along with everything on my screen, cant click anything, not even the start menu at the bottom or buttons or CtrlAltDel or anything, however I still can use my mouse. Five seconds in that state and my mouse too freezes. It stays like that for aprox. 10 seconds, and then unfreezes, allowing me to play again, no worse for wear.
This happens most often during gameplay, not while doing anything particularly special or noteworthy. The hard drive doesn't access, there are no strange sounds. However when i listen to music through SL or via stream or MP3, it continues to play while the mouse curser is still mobile, but stops when the mouse freezes too, only to pick up again when it all unfreezes.
Sometimes I'll go an entire day without a freeze, sometimes it'll give me 2 in the course of 10 minutes, all with no notable action being taken. Once after a sim crashed, it started freezing while logging in for the first time. During the process the game froze and unfroze twice in rapid sucession during relogging. I shut the game down and tried again. It did the same thing, rappidly freezing and unfreezing twice when it was logging in, letting it finish it's work this time, the game loaded up and ran normally once it had frozen those 2 times.
Sometimes tho, the effects are much worse. About three times now, (in the past 3-4 weeks) the game has frozen, waited for about 3-4 seconds, then immediately the screen goes black and a few moments I get BSOD showing a STOP error, indicating some sort of loop. It sites my Nvidia drivers as the cause. That is a bit more aggrivating...
I have reason to beleive that it might be Processor related, simply by the behavior of the poblem. I run an Intel Core Duo in my Sager 5760, alond with 2 gig of ram and Geforce 7900GTX. My system has no overheating issues, nor any problems with other games.
Any help or insight would be appreciated.
