My system crasched recently as a hal.dll file disappeared and i reinstalled my windows xp professional. I deleted the old Second Life installation and reinstalled it, then i says it can't find a certain file or that it says that my System thinks that i'm running two SL at the same time. Then after the message, SL shuts down. What am i to do? I've tried restarting, reinstalling, uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting but nothing changes. It stays the same with that error message. PLease help me

Got any special characters in username? C:\Documents and Settings\**username**\Application Data\SecondLife SL cant find files if you do, till next update anyhoo that should fix it, for now only way to "fix" it, is by changing username to something without special chars, or make a new one temporary.
