I stopped getting mouse hover popups about a day ago, sometime after I upgraded to 1.6. The only place I get them is on the map, I can't get information on any object ingame without going to the edit menu.
I don't see any option in preferences that might disable them and I haven't made any changes such as updating graphics drivers that might have caused them, they just seem to have gone walkies.

You've probably hit Ctrl-Shift-T or View > Hover Tips at some point. Either option toggles "hover tips".

Hi Eata,
I'm not inworld right now, but from memory the option you want is under the Edit menu, and is a toggle for Tool Tips. By default that should have been on when you upgraded, however it is possible you may have inadvertantly turned it off with the keyboard shortcut (which I think is Alt-T)
Personally I love this new feature, as the hover bubble text really intruded when playing games like SL-ingo or Tringo, so it's great that it's configurable on/off
