EVGA 512-P2-N757-TR Geforce 8600 GT 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16

Second Life will only let me select 256MB in preferences. Is there a way for me to get the benefit of the full 512? I just got this card, installed the latest drivers from nVidia on XP home.
