This version is unusable on both my machines, one with Nvidia one with ATI, both of which worked well previously. The ping times and frame rates seem OK, but there is a huge (10+ second) delay between input of an arrow command and it's execution which makes flying impossible to control. There is also a very long (>3 minute) delay in loading the landscape and other prims.

Something is very broken in this version.

I've moved this to Technical Issues so hopefully you can get the help you deserve, since SL Answers isn't the right place for it... it needs unfolding and discussion! Please don't hesitate to contact support either. :)

I know this doesn't immediately help your issue at hand but it's always best to wait a day or two after an update to decide whether or not it works as well as the prior since it takes some time for things to "settle" after the updates. After an update EVERYTHING has to reload and it's generally the worst on the day of an update since the servers (sims) are attempting to get back to normal AND handle all the users logging back in to play and test whatever new features have been implimented. See how performance is later today or tomorrow, if it's still awful then worry.

Teleport always fails and still unplayable

I realize this is must be a problem with my setup since LL can't do anything wrong.

However, it's odd that I've changed nothing on either of my computers and the problem started exactly with the release of 1.8.3(9). I guess my ISP must have changed or maybe the universal fine constant changed?

Not that there's any chance of this getting fixed, but whatever is wrong with the wires from my CPU to the display has made controlling my AV with the arrow keys lag by 10's of seconds and land and prim loading lag by 30 - 200+ sec. Teleporting always fails and starting SL crashes about 1 out of 3 times.

As I said, it's obviously not a problem with the new version, but I don't understand how my system with no changes broke exactly when the new version was released. Clearing cache, changing the preferences, reloading the download changed nothing which I guess proves it isn't the new version.

I'll wait another week or so before attempting to sell all my land (if I can get in) and abandoning SL.

ummm, LL does do things wrong, I was merely suggesting a little patience on your part, not that your system "coincidentally" got borked at the same time as the update...SL is somewhat of a "new frontier" and we'd all do well to keep this in mind and have patience as LL continues to develop it. I've been thru plenty of updates and have experienced plenty of disappointments but I've muddled thru them and will continue to do so as they happen since I appreciate what they're trying to provide us with and for the most part it has been an awesome experience.

I hope this was just a case of "new update" lag for you and all is settled down now...but if not, I hope you decide to hang around until things do smooth out for you as they have for myself and many others. :)
