Someone asked this question today in a chat group I'm a member of....

"Can anyone please tell me why this ❷ shows up as a number on one of my characters and as a weird symbol on the other? I'm on two different computers if that makes a difference."

That ❷ is apparently a filled in circle with a 2 in the middle. Well, for me, that shows as a dot, a bit like an apostrophe. On my work pc, where I'm posting this, it shows as an empty square. So, it seems I am having the same problem as they are. I've noticed it quite a lot in general chat from non-english speakers.

Can anyone advise how I can get these to appear as the symbols they are supposed to be?

I googled "install unicode compatible fonts" and came back with countless different fonts to install. How do I know what to install or is there a package somewhere that I can download for the right things? I'm really just after these symbols, rather than language-other-than-English packages.

I found out I just had to install Arial Unicode font. Thanks!
