Most of us talk and talk and talk about what kind of download speed we have..
I have 20 down and 0,800 up.. a personal firewall of some modern sort - ( brand: linksys) - now the question...
What do we all need as speed UP to get the best performance from the SL software..???
The comp must send something to SF.. as we speak and walk and fly and tp and.. build and..

10 down 1 up ratio it looks like for SL
my stats went to heck again but a month average for me is about 30 gig down 3 up 'ish
Doing nothing now and its 5kb down, 1kb up, eeh...not thats it much around me.
Only times i seen SL use upload is when you rebake your avatar and sends it to server , everything else is triggered on server and sendt to others.
and duh offcourse when you upload anything but doesnt count -.- cause you controll when that is happening.

my upload speed is pretty poor .. but with most internet applications the upload is just some basic raw info, that really doesnt add up to much of anything
(ie i tp to a region, it sends a few lines of text and receives mondo megabits back)

Bandwidth Counter stats

I use a 2-way satellite link to access the net (it's the only broadband option where I am)
SInce monthly bandwith is limited both ways, we have a counter provided by the ISP
to track our usage.
Since I've started using SL a lot, I've been running 8-10:1 down vs up, with a normal
amount of web browsing added to my SL use, but SL is probably 80% of my total usage.
