When I log in, it goes fine untill Connecting to Region. Then it stops... It doesn't lock up, it just stops doing anything. Can anyone help? :o

Odd as it sounds: try clicking here. Connecting to a different region first often solves that problem

When I had a similiar problem, I had to check the pc firewall log. It was listing 3 Second Life connections, one was marked trusted. The other two were not and were named a little differently. I deleted those two. and then was able to connect to SL. I do not know what caused the creation of the extra Second Life entries in the firewall data.

I don't have a firewall, I go straight into the modem.

What are your computer specs? Your connection and etc.? Tell us what you are using.

If you are connected straight to the modem with no firewall or router, your computer may be so infected with spyware, viruses and zombie-ware that you may not have enough bandwidth left over to run SL...

Ok, my computer specs? I have an AMD 3500+ 1gb of ram, a 7800 GT, I have cable as my internet, and I'm pretty sure thats it. :\ I'm not too good with this.

Ok, that answers a lot of questions. Next is were you on SL before then you are not able to get on or have you not been able to ever?

Ok, you haven't been engaging in any activity that could get you banned have you? You may have to call up tech support and see if there is a problem with your account.

First though, check a few simple things like uninstalling SL and reloading it, reloading your video drivers and verifying your connection speed. This is a good speed checker

http://performance.toast.net/

If that checks out ok, then you need to do a trace route and see if you are getting dropped between your modem and the SL. Go to your "Start" menu, open "Run" then type CMD into the run box which opens a command promt box on the screen. type "tracert www.secondlife.com" and you should get something like this except I removed the first three IP adresses for security and privacy reasons:

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>tracert www.secondlife.com

Tracing route to secondlife.com [66.150.244.125]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 2 ms <1 ms <1 ms
2 17 ms 9 ms 7 ms
3 11 ms 8 ms 7 ms

11 51 ms 51 ms 51 ms web2.lindenlab.com [66.150.244.125]

Trace complete.

If you fail to get to 'web2.lindenlab.com [66.150.244.125]' then there is a network problem. Also, some folks have said that loading the latest version of Quicktime has been causing connection problems so if loaded it recently, you might try uninstalling it.
