Can't Log in.

HELP!

I can't seem to log in. I will go to log in, it will go through the whole process, and then just before it finishes, it'll close on me and come up with a crash report. I know its not my computer, because I tried my alt and it works perfectly. What can I do?

I just heard of second life, got it installed on my PC, went to start it for the first time, and it crashed. I've tried it several times, checked the requirements and that's all OK and reinstalled it. So I'm wondering what the problem is too....Any guesses, as I'm thinking of turning tail, and uninstalling for good.

Same here, it says Second Life is running but all I see is my desktop. There are no minimized instances of the game in my task bar like it says there should be.

I even went through the deleting folders-uninstalling-reinstalling thing and it still happens. I wish someone would post a response to this, I would really like to play this game once.

If your alt works, then it could be something related to the place you were at when you logged out the last time. Before you login, click preferences. Look at the general tab and set Login Location to home. Or if it is set to home, then you can try setting it to last location.

Also, I've been having crashes related to my draw distance. Often it will crash when I TP home if I've raised my draw distance while I was away. So, you might try resetting your draw distance to 64m before you login. You can always raise it again once you get on.

These two tricks have helped me in the past, but your mileage may vary. Hope it helps!
