Is there a WYSIWYG mode for the forum editor?

Message Editor Interface
When posting messages to the forums or other members, there are three interface types available to you. The simplest of these is a simple text box, while the last is a fully-fledged WYSIWYG editor, which allows you to format your text as you want it and see the results immediately.

Depending upon the capabilities of your web browser, you may not be able to use all of these options. If you experience problems when posting messages, try switching to a different interface type.

Does the above mentioned WYSIWYG editor appear for anyone?

I only get the the first two options, whether on Firefox, Mozilla, or the latest version of Internet Explorer. The WYSIWYG editor does display on other vBulletin forums.

If there is not supposed to be a WYSIWYG editor, wouldn't it make sense to correct the documentation?

GOOD FREAKIN' QUESTION!!!! :)

Actually, today I was wondering about this myself... because I'm tired of formatting things and seeing the tags strewn all over the place to indicate style changes and whatnot.

A WYSIWYG editor would be really nifty.

Just enabled it today. You can now choose from Standard & WYSIWYG Controls in the ForumCP under "Edit Options". Have fun and don't abuse the smilieys. ;)

Note: WYSIWYG applies only to the forum editor...

WYSIWYG does not mean the lean hunk avatar flirting with you inworld accurately reflects the person behind it.

Typical forum moderator, one minute they give you the WYSIWYG editor, next minute they're strangling your freedom of expression regarding smileys. :)

Thanks Jeska, I hope it makes for better laid out more effective posts.

Now about the spell and grammar checker...

Okay, this is cool. I din't know vBulletin had WYSIWYG capability. I'm scared now though. Am I going to forget everything I know about using the codes for formatting? Oh, wait a sec, maybe that's what I want to do. Okay, all good.
