Returning to Orientation Island

Hello,

I wanted to know how to return back to my original orientation island.. I'm new at this and have to still finish two full tutorials before I get into the "real world"... can someone tell me how to return to the island as I actually "warped" out of my orientation island to go to another place... and now I don't know how to return. If you could let me know , that would be great. I'm not sure WHICH Island I was originally from.

Click on the SEARCH icon at the bottom of your screen.

In the find box introduce the words:

orientation island

Click on the Orientation Island Public icon

Click on Teleport

And you should be there.

I still have to actually finish tutorials though and I'm having trouble finding how to get to that area... I know I keep nagging... but if you could direct me to that in a bit more detail, I would really really appreciate it.

If you somehow made it to a place other than orientation island, you are on the main grid and I don't think you can return there at all. All you can do at this point is go to the public one that Marzial mentions.

In other words, the trip out of the island you start on is a one way ticket, lol.

This shouldn't be a problem, though. You should be able to learn the things you need on the public island. The only reward that I know of for finishing the tutorials is going on the main grid. (Someone will correct me if I'm wrong there) Since you've achieved that, you don't really need to go back.

Can you tell me about how to begin my journey here? I am really really confused about how to before my SL. It seems REALLY difficult already and I'm thinking about throwing in the towel right now... and it's my first day!

It seems difficult because there's no set goal (slay the dragon, beat the high score, etc.) You're free to do whatever you want and that makes it seem overwhelming at first. I suggest that you play a little to see what you enjoy doing. Go to the Public Orientation Island and have some fun. Fly around. Talk to people. Go to the sandbox and get familiar with the basic prim shapes. Explore the whole island. Once you get bored with the orientation island, you should have a better idea what you like to do. Then may I suggest that you do a search for the Shelter, which is a club and hangout for new residents. There are a lot of people there who can help you get started. You can always come here and ask questions too.

I sent you a Landmark to the Public orientation Island. Find it in your inventory under Landmarks in case you loose it before teleporting. The search button will be your biggest help to begin with.
