I have been told that if a person is near me in Second life ...they do not have voice dot over their head and are not listed in Active Speakers..that it is still possible for them to hear..I was told they have programs where ppl can listen in voice SL but wont show up in voice...any truth to this?

edit: actually, I thought you were asking a different question, but I suspect the answer is still "no" - I'll have to check

sorry could have been the way I stated it...Basically I was told that ppl can be right next to you in game appear to not be in voice and still have a way of listening in...now I am aware that ppl can stand several square meters away and cam over and listen but this is diff...I was told their is some type of program that would allow ppl to look like they are not in voice but they can actual listen in...hope this makes sense LOL.

I understand you. It would not surprise if you could do this, but I do not think many people would know how how if you could.

maybe so. But...why should you care? Either voice chat or text chat is SUPPOSED to be publicly accessible. If you want privacy, go to IM.

I have been IMed by friends that let me know what some people say about me in voice. I'm sure they would not appreciate the idea of me getting that kind of information or they would have said it in the open on text chat. I imagine that sneaky listeners would limit people from being able to say what they want. (^_^) It's good to know who is listening. (^_^)y
