Quit Issue

I pressed ctrl + q a few times and it won't quit. it takes a long time to quit and i hate to restart the computer or the plug so how i fix this?

I believe the quit function is part of the client........the software on your computer. I'm guessing but I bet you are running Windows too. It sounds like your computer is having a problem with memory.........having to complete a task before it can move the next. Everyone knows SL is CPU and memory hungry.......so is Windows You might need more RAM.......or less back ground programs running.....or both.

Some times when I want to close SL I get a delay...........but not more than maybe 30 seconds. That usually happens after I've been on SL for a long period of time. But that also happens after I've been using my graphics program (the GIMP)..........that leads me believe that two CPU and RAM hungry programs (Windows being at least one of those programs) running at the same time Windows is very slow to react.

I've done a couple things to help with this occassional problem I experience.....disk cleanup including temperary internet files, and a disk defrag. It helps. Try that if your RAM is good enough and your back ground programs are not excessive.

'Quit' is not instant with SL. How long is a "long time to quit?"
If its 30 seconds or less, I'd say that's okay.
There are a LOT of network things happening that need to be shut down between you and Linden Labs.

Most of the time when I quit SL it's like one second and I'm back to my desktop. So my 30 second delay is not normal on this machine.

someone already clean out my memory or RAM as you can say. A long time means like 1 minture or so
