Check to see if your video card supports the rippled water now.

O sureeeeeeee, just rub it in =/ I feel ya Sensual, I never got to put on Ripple water either I use an ATi Radeon 9000 Pro 128 MB and apparently that doesn't support it so if you use that or maybe any lower (or maybe higher) ATI card that's probably the problem. _____________________

The first rippled water was pretty but they changed it in later patch to much uglier/boring effect, after a while I've turned it off completely. You haven't missed that much.

Sorry, I don't have a technical answer, but if there is a way you can enable it, I would recommend it. Contrary to Candie's opinion, I like the current rippled look. I wouldn't exactly call it realistic water, but it does look nice, and I do consider it to be a step up from the previous two incarnations. The original one was horrible, as it often caused "flooding" in low lying areas, and it looked a lot more like Windex than water. The next one was more like what we have now, but it was fairly oily looking, again not exactly water-like. The current one still looks a bit oily, but it's better. I'm sure as time goes on and they keep tweaking it, they'll eventually get it right.
Sorry if that makes you feel worse for not being able to see it, Sensual. I hope you get it worked out. _____________________

Sensual, Go with with a nVidia Geforce 6800 if you want a mid level card, or nVidia Geforce 7800 if you want a high end card (or a 7900 if you want REALLY high end). I would not stick with ATI. Depending on how old your system is, it will determine whether you need an AGP or PCI-Express card. If your computer is more than a year or two old, it is probably still AGP. _____________________

I have a Dell DIM 4600, altyough I dont know much about computers so I dont know if its AGP or PCI? Sensual, The Dell Dimension 4600 has an 8X AGP slot, not PCIExpress which is a newer type of slot. There is an excellent deal on the AGP version of the Geforce 7800 here ($289). If you don't want to go that high, I can recommend some other cards. _____________________

Cris, with the 6800 is the GT version better? I never understand all the little letter codes GT, XT, GS, OC, CO, LE...YMCA... (I'm in the AGP market) _____________________
