Hi - If i have someone on mute, everytime I sign back into SL, there is no one on my mute list. And before that, when I'd have someone on mute, they could still IM me when I was offline. Is mute pretty much worthless? What happened to a good old fashion WORKING ignore button, where you can't see that person's chat and they can't contact you in any way, shape or form?

Known issue, the mute list is cleared on logoff (or on login), but cleared.. I am sure will be fixed in next release, they know about it.

Is it really that the mute list is cleared, or is it the phenomenon I've noticed since 1.9, that I crash about half the times I log off? That makes it so I lose all of the client settings I've changed... perhaps mute is one of them?

I would estimate I get asked to report a crash at least half the times I log out. Kyushu

Actually the mute function is completely BROKEN, not just cleared out. If you mute someone you'll still get their IM messages. I'm constantly getting harassed by this jerk and he knows the mute function is broke.

i was trying to use 'mute' last night to block a pregnant avi's baby's laughing/crying. does a baby count as a separate avi? or is blocking the carrier enough? (or will it be, once mute's fixed?? talk about sl-child abuse, lol - bringing an unborne into a loud stripclub!! (i couldn't really care - except that that dang baby laughing/crying is sooooo loud and irritating... whoever created it must've gone +10db on that sample.)

Yes objects are also mutable, in case the object is an annoyance, flooding, etc. At least they used to be till they broke.

I will confirm the "Muted Residents list is cleared each session" has already been fixed internally. So it should be resolved in the next version of Second Life, coming soon.

Torley I was under the impression that if I MUTE a resident I also wouldn't get their annoying IMs to harass me. Well the mutes are fixed, I don't see their chat messages in-world, but I'm STILL getting their annoying IM messages. Isn't there away to stop their IMs too?

^ Inworld IMs from the muted shouldn't show up at all to you. If they do, that's a bug. Please report it. However, you'll still get offline IMs--that's also a bug, one which has been around for awhile.

This always happens.......
