I'm not sure if this is the place to go to for this but here goes...
I was in Crimson Falls last night (Friday) at about 10pm when My avatar started walking backwards. I couldn't stop it. I let it go for a bit to see if it would stop and ended up at a cooradinate of -20, 604, -30 or something.
I logged off and tried to log on but now I can't. I get one of two errors: The first one is as it's "Waiting for region handshake..."
The error either is "Unable to connect. Login packet never received by login server. Please try again in a few minutes, or click Help for advice and a link to the system status web page."
(Clicking on help does nothing but closes the box, and the screen has the in world buttons on the bottom blocking the login buttons.)
Or I get this error that immedently comes up:
"Login failed. The system is logging you in from another location right now. Your Account will not be available until" (a time always about 20 hours in the future).
Please help. Thanks.

P.S. I've checked the wiki and I don't see this problem there at all.

Start the SL client and before you logon click prefences and change your start location to 'Home', then logon as normal.

Heya Owner, it's been many hours later, have you been able to login yet? What I do know is you were previously affected by a presence bug, where your actual online status wasn't shown correctly. The system thought you were already inworld.

This should be clear now--if it's not, please post again.

I was also able to TP to Crimson Falls. Doesn't look like that region is specifically affected.

This is probbably related to the packet loss problem. I've also seen (All too many times) walking and cant stop, moving backwards... walking forward while sliding into the ground, router locks, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc

The crashes to desktop seem to be the SL client throwing a temper tantrum when it dosent get the data it expected. (Its VERY bad about sharing cpu time too, especially during packet loss problems. During these, it will monopolize the cpu to the exclusion of EVERYTHING else including drivers.) .... so far I havent had a spontanious reboot as some other people have reported but I have had a couple of "hard locks" where the whole computer totally froze (Thats kind of rare though.)

I think my record coordinate so far is about -8000 or so....

About all you can do is watch the scenery go by (the underworld is sometimes interesting to look at) and threaten to close your account and get heart medication refilled
