Im trying to upload some sounds for and on many of them I am getting an error says the sound file does not have the supported sample rate (44.1k). Is there a way I can change this? If so do i need a special program, or is there something I can do like edit it windows media player. Any info would be appricaited... Thanks

Yee-up, there is a software tool that's mighty handy for sound file manipulation and...
...wait for it...
It's free!

It's called Audacity from the fine people of Source Forge.
It can change the sampling rate of your sound file and convert to MP3, WAV, and Ogg Vorbis, yadda x3.
It's loca-mated here.

Also, on the sight are a faq and tutorial, so go to it.

Im sure that Audacity is a fine program, but you can also convert (save as properties) wav file formats with Windows Sound Recorder, which, if your using Windows, is probably already installed and ready to go.

i know this is a little old, but i think people wouldnt be happy if i made a new thread without searching, i get the same error.. can you use goldwave?? the trial on that lasts forever, only limits how many actions you can do and then u just restart it.

You can't do better than Audacity for a freeware audio editor. I highly recommend it!
